Relationship

Compatibility between two or a group that descends for ages due to a bond, love, affection, social priorities, and social prominence is generally termed a relationship. The Relationship has been founded as a bond out of pure love that finds no equivalent word to describe like parental, paternal or maternal, friendship or the one formed beyond any reason beyond description like the Gopikas’ of Madura to Lord Krishna. Under the normal theory, we term the relationship between husband and wife, siblings, grandparents, great-grandparents of paternal and maternal sides, Coparceners, Employer-Employee, The Preceptor-disciple (Guru-shishya) along with those connected to blood and non-blood relatives as accepted.

Let me quote here about Dane Rudhyar (1895 – 1985) an American author, composer and humanistic Astrologer. He was led by Japanese Zen teachers to study Oriental Philosophy and Occultism. He immersed himself deep into Astrology, making his name to name himself Dane ‘Rudhyar’ a Sanskrit word meaning the god ‘Rudra’.

In his words ‘If the Astrologer thinks he merely gives bits of information and loads of related advice with the whole thing (On seeing a horoscope presented to him), he is greatly mistaken – but he (The Astrologer) has established a relationship’.

There cannot be a better interpretation of ‘Relationship’ than this. The querist or the consultant may approach the Astrologer once in a lifetime – but today’s astrologers are attuning their work to, and training themselves in, several skills that will render both their understanding and translation of the birth chart a process of more worthwhile consequence. These skills range over a wide field of deeper astrological, psychological, spiritual, philosophical and psychotherapeutic understandings which allow them to purposefully communicate with the person who is in some way troubled, perplexed or otherwise experiencing a general search for direction in life. The traditional astrological interpretations are being transcended and the wider arena beyond beckons the astrologer as counsellor. Though each person, each situation is different, as mentioned earlier, it is experienced by the individual in his life and emerges through dialogue between him and the astrological counsellor – establishing a sound relationship.

Relationship – consideration between a Husband and Wife – a Man and a Woman

This human cycle primarily starts with the physical union of a male and a female, a relationship established by a bond in the form of marriage or agreeable terms (Consideration of Western Culture).

I would like to mention here about ‘the theory of attraction’ and ‘the theory of proximity’ the two equivocal terms giving the same meaning. The marriage is solemnised by the elders of two groups or by the love-making of the bride and the groom. Here begins a new relationship which not only unites two individuals but their families too (according to Hindu Culture in India). As this establishment of a new relationship takes its course of time to settle amicably, sometimes it can never come through due to the misunderstandings that may erupt over time as the mentalities of both a male and a female differ. It is different to deal with this with respect between a husband and wife and with relatives involved in the scene.

I would like to establish this from beautiful content from a book titled ‘Men Are from Mars and Women Are from Venus’ by R K Rangarajan – Sub-editor of ‘Kumudam Weekly in Tamil. ‘A Man expects a woman to think and act like him and a Woman expects a Man to think and act like her’ – This is the fundamental error that leads to all sorts of complications. Both Men and Women tend to forget that the biological complexion of both is different – and when such a truth – for real – is understood in good terms these unwanted, unexpected botherations will fade away.

The Sun:

The Sun refers primarily to the father, Father-in-law, Eldest Son, Paternal side elders, Wife or Husband of another person, Politicians and Allopathy Doctors.

The Moon:

The Moon denotes the mother, mother-in-law, elder sister, aged women, and maternal side elders.

Mars:

Mars refers to her husband as a woman, brother, or Coparcener (Half-brothers), brother-in-law (Brother of one’s wife)

Mercury:

Refers to younger siblings – Younger brother and younger sister, Uncle, associates and friends, teachers, Lover, Beau

Jupiter:

Children, Elder brother, Father’s elder brother, Great grandfather, Spiritual heads, Teachers, Ministers,

Venus:

Venus denotes Wife, sisters (Co-born), young charming ladies, daughters of aunts, and female children.

Saturn:

Saturn denotes the father’s younger brothers, Servants and employees who are paid monthly, Daily wage-earning labourers, village priests, and differently-abled persons.

Ancestors, Grandfather, and fetus

Though mythical, it can be recalled that the Men are from Mars and the Women are from Venus. One is so hot and the other is so attractive and both coexists. It should be remembered that both have different physical structures, mental status, expectations and expressions, the scale of tolerance, inhibitions and presentations. The expectation of identical thoughts and actions from both ends of a husband and wife or partners or friends or relatives or siblings lead to controversies ending in unwanted misunderstandings, and quarrels which may end in divorce or separation from family into an isolated life.
